It's a wrap! Save the date: 3 to 7 September 2014.
The Berlin Music Week ended on a very positive note: 2,500 delegates from more than 30 countries were at WORD! in Postbahnhof, the conference and business platform of the Berlin Music Week. More than 400 accredited media representatives, 5,000 guests at the premier of new showcase First We Take Berlin festival, 20,000 visitors at the Berlin Festival with Björk, Blur, Casper and the Pet Shop Boys. – And the fourth Berlin Music Week culminated in an exciting finish in the Admiralspalast, where Munich band Exclusive accepted the New Music Award.
Project manager Björn Döring from event organiser Kulturprojekte Berlin was very happy about how things went: “This fourth Berlin Music Week proved that it has finally arrived – in Berlin, in the music industry and among music lovers. We are not only happy about the great turnout, but most of all about the fact that we have managed to develop authentic, contemporary formats that are followed with interest and attention. And they obviously are fully in line with what both professional and private music fans want to see. The WORD! events in Postbahnhof and the many SOUND! events in clubs and outdoor locations in the city presented a top quality and varied programme. Both the business section as well as the concerts and parties managed to reach out to a young audience and, by covering subjects like technology, start-ups and new business models, the Berlin Music Week has been able to fulfil its own expectation – being able to experience the future of music in Berlin today. We would like to thank all of our supporters, sponsors and partners, with whom we are already involved in the planning work for 2014.”
Postbahnhof: a meeting place for the German and international industry
With its integrative B2B platform WORD! the Berlin Music Week became a meeting place for the German and international industry. The relevant people from the recorded, tech and live sectors designed the meeting place from 4 to 6 September for the 2,500 participants from more than 30 countries. A theme-based and practically oriented debate got underway with the partners newthinking communications, all2gethernow, VUT and Melt! Booking, and it opened up whole new perspectives. The conference programme including the VUT Indie Days with more than 100 individual events and more than 200 speakers and panellists concentrated mainly on the areas of 'technology and music' and 'recorded music‘.
First We Take Berlin with an impressive premiere and international shine
The new showcase festival of the Berlin Music Week was an impressive success at its premiere. More than 5,000 visitors celebrated the more than 80 artists on 4 and 5 September in 10 clubs in the melting pot Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. Music lovers as well as German and international industry representatives were able to experience the excellent quality of the newcomers and stars of tomorrow.
